• Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)

In the customs legislation of the European Union an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) is a certified enterprise which enjoys certain privileges.

The status of an Authorised Economic Operator, among other things, makes it possible within the entire European Union for enterprises to obtain the permits required for customs procedures in a simplified procedure, without repeated and comprehensive investigations as well as it provides rights to other simplified procedures. It is, therefore, highly important to use uniform standards within the entire European Union when this status is granted.

Granting this status is subject to a number of conditions related to reliability, solvency and adherence to rules of law as well as to the existence of certain security standards. Source: Wiki
