Schuon has made a name for itself not only for its efficient international operations, but also for its sustainable and environmentally conscious principles.
By using innovative technologies, extended lorries, alternative fuels such as HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil), Bio-LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and pure electric vehicles (BEV:Battery Electric Vehicle), we significantly reduce our CO2 emissions and set new standards for environmentally friendly and sustainable transport solutions.
Using HVO as a synthetic fuel can reduce CO2 emissions of a diesel truck by up to 90%. Since summer 2020, we have been using HVO as the first freight company in Hungary. We also use this fuel in Germany therefore actively contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality. The use of hydrogenated vegetable oils as fuel is not only environmentally friendly, but also conserves resources.
In addition to HVO, we have also been using LNG-powered vehicles since the autumn of 2020. This alternative technology reduces fine particulate matter, nitrogen oxide and noise emissions and offers maximum CO2 savings when using Bio-LNG.
In order to relieve the road network, we are also focusing on intermodal transport solutions, especially for longer distances with high transport volumes.
Since 2017, we have invested in extended trailers and continuously expanded this business segment. Thanks to this additional loading volume, every second transport can be saved and CO2 emissions per transported unit can be significantly reduced. Positive side effect: traffic congestion is also reduced.
We also offer our customers the option of making their transportation climate-neutral. By purchasing climate certificates, we offset the CO2 emissions of our transportation and invest in sustainable projects that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
Overall, we strive to continuously improve our carbon footprint with our eco-logistics solutions and offer our customers sustainable transport solutions. By focusing on alternative fuels, intermodal transport solutions and climate-friendly or climate-neutral transportation, we are making an important contribution to protecting our environment and to the sustainable development of our company.
